Sushi and Zen

My friend was right. There are no choices. Nothing but a straight line; the illusion comes afterwards, when you ask, “Why me?”, “What if?”. Now, if we all have a penny every time it swirled around our heads, we’d be friggin’ rich.
Friggin’ rich, but living a meaningless life.
See, when you look back and see the branches, like a pruned bonsai tree, or a forked lightning, or what you ordered in a sushi place, if you had done something differently, it wouldn’t be your choice; it wouldn’t be you. It would be someone else looking back, asking a different set of questions, and ordering a different set of dish.
